(IT) Systems Engineer, Windows, Unix, Novell (relocation)


Location: CBD - Sydney   

3 months + Competitive $ Large project, diverse technologies CBD location An Experienced Systems Engineer is required for a Key Project of a Major Government Dept. The core of the work will involve auditing, documenting and relocating Novell, Windows and UNIX systems from four data centres into an (outsourced) data centre facility. Essential Skills Technical operating system exposure and experience with Windows 2000 Server, Windows 2003 Server and Linux platforms (Red Hat, Suse and Fedora). Industry based technical certifications, such as: MCP, MCSE, LPI, Linux+, RHCE and SAIR, etc. Operating System Technical Training. Experience working on production equipment in production data centres in either and ICT operations role or implementation role. Previous ICT audit experience. Technical hardware experience including Hewlett Packard Servers and Hewlett Packard SAN infrastructure and experience with HP Systems Insight Manager will be highly regarded. The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to work unsupervised and independently, have keen attention to detail, have a history of working successfully with project team members and good oral written communication and interpersonal skills.
