We are currently recruiting for a strong Application Developer to join the FX team of a top tier investment bank, based in the City of London. This is a great opportunity to join a growing team and get involved in fast moving, high volume business. You do not need business knowledge for this role, so this is a great opportunity to move into the investment banking sector. Responsibilities in the role include: Day-to-day support of the applications implemented by the team for a wide variety of FX electronic trading platforms; monitoring Real Time trading & position management systems; responding to business queries, identifying fixes & coding, testing & implementing them with accuracy & speed. There is a 50/50 split between support & development of small enhancements. You will be given ownership of small projects. You will work directly on the trading floor with traders, sales people, strategists & operations personnel. To be the successful candidate you will have the following experience: Strong IT industry experience; OO programming; UNIX; Exposure to a support environment. You will be degree educated. Strong communciation skills are required to elicit requirements from the users. This company offers excellent support & training, with good future mobility options.
